I’m pretty sure the same guy who came up with the spelling of Wednesday was responsible for February too. Doesn’t the whole idea of a silent letter seem oxymoronic? Or maybe just plain moronic.

Then there are those words that seem to need letters that just aren’t there. Segue needs a w. And an ay. Cough needs an f. Colonel definitely needs an r.
