The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore

0

I stumbled upon this animated short film recently. It has won some awards, but was only this month made available on Vimeo.com. It’s fifteen minutes long, but worth it if you appreciate whimsy and the wonder of books.

Here’s what the creators say about it:

Inspired, in equal measures, by Hurricane Katrina, Buster Keaton, The Wizard of Oz, and a love for books, “Morris Lessmore” is a story of people who devote their lives to books and books who return the favor. Morris Lessmore is a poignant, humorous allegory about the curative powers of story.

They have an iPad app that I will be trying out soon. Apparently this film comes in an interactive virtual storybook form. I’ll let you know what I think.
