My post a couple days ago about “boots on the ground” got me thinking about idioms with the word boot in it. I came up with sixteen.
We’ve talked about things like what makes a good Hero, what makes a good Nemesis, and how they work together to make a story that fits in the classic style popular the world over, so now let’s see how such a story is actually structure.
I found this a day late, but had to share it anyway. It’s a short film of people on the street saying “I love you” in their native languages.
“Boots on the ground” is a common expression that is an idiom, a metonymy, a synecdoche, and a euphemism all wrapped up together.
